The City of Waterloo, Illinois is committed to providing its residents and businesses with modern, reliable services and an unrivaled quality of life. The City Council is comprised of the Mayor and eight Aldermen who are elected for four-year terms. The Mayor and Board of Aldermen work cooperatively with city administration, local organizations, and residents to set goals and to ensure that the best service possible is being delivered to our citizens.
The City Council meets formally on the first and third Mondays of each month at 7:30 pm.
There are currently 60 full-time employees and 37 part-time employees (which include: elected officials, crossing guards, property mower, summer hires, WEMA director, Planning Commission members and Zoning Board of Appeals members).
The City of Waterloo has an operating budget of $31,000,000.00 (FY 2023).
