In 2022, the City of Waterloo joined the United States of America Vietnam War Commemoration as a Commemorative Partner. As a partner, we promise to assist the nation in thanking and honoring our veterans and the nine million families that served during the Vietnam War Era. March 29th is designated as National Vietnam War Veterans Day. Last year, we held a Vietnam Veterans Day Program on Main Street in downtown Waterloo. This year, a program will be held at the Veterans Memorial at Lakeview Park on March 29 at 11 a.m. We have moved locations, because during this year’s program we will have a special dedication of the Vietnam Era soldier statue that was installed at the park in late 2022.
